BERH Issues Circular to Prevent Misleading and Derogatory Statements Against Homoeopathy Practitioners
New Delhi, June 9, 2026: The Board of Ethics and Registration for Homoeopathy (BERH) under the National Commission for Homoeopathy has issued a circular aimed at preventing derogatory and misleading statements against Homoeopathy and registered Homoeopathy practitioners.
The circular, bearing F. No. ER-27/4/2026-NCH/5009-5014 dated June 8, 2026, emphasizes the need to maintain professional dignity and discourage the dissemination of misinformation relating to the Homoeopathy system of medicine.
According to BERH, Homoeopathy is a legally recognized system of medicine in India and is governed by the provisions of the National Commission for Homoeopathy Act, 2020. The Board has observed instances where misleading, disparaging, or unsubstantiated comments regarding Homoeopathy and its practitioners have been circulated through public forums and digital platforms.
The circular advises all stakeholders, including practitioners, institutions, and regulatory bodies, to promote responsible communication and ensure that discussions concerning Homoeopathy are based on factual and evidence-based information. It also calls upon State Homoeopathy Boards and Councils to take appropriate note of the advisory and disseminate it among registered practitioners.
Significance of the Circular
The latest BERH directive is expected to strengthen professional ethics and reinforce the credibility of registered Homoeopathy practitioners across the country. The move aligns with the Board’s mandate to uphold ethical standards, safeguard professional integrity, and ensure public confidence in the Homoeopathy healthcare system.
Healthcare experts note that responsible public discourse is essential for maintaining trust in all recognized systems of medicine and for protecting healthcare professionals from misinformation and unwarranted reputational harm.
